Everything You Need to Know About the Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh Biopic

A new biopic about former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been announced for August 20. The film, which doesn’t have a title yet, will be produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and co-produced by Ravi Bhagchandka, known for Sachin: A Billion Dreams and the upcoming Sitaare Zameen Par with Aamir Khan.

The movie will showcase Yuvraj Singh’s incredible journey, including his famous six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup, his fight against cancer, and his return to cricket in 2012. It aims to highlight his achievements and contributions to the sport.

Yuvraj Singh, who began his cricket career at age 13, hopes his story will inspire others. “I’m honored that Bhushan and Ravi are sharing my story with fans around the world. Cricket has been my biggest passion and source of strength. I hope this film encourages others to follow their dreams with determination,” said Singh.

Bhushan Kumar expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “Yuvraj Singh’s story is one of strength and success. His journey from a talented cricketer to a true hero is inspiring. I’m excited to bring his remarkable story to the big screen and celebrate his achievements.”

  • Under-19 World Cup (2000): In 2000, India won their first Under-19 World Cup, largely thanks to Yuvraj Singh’s outstanding performance. He was named Player of the Tournament for his all-round skills, scoring 203 runs and taking 12 wickets in 8 matches. Notably, he scored 68 runs and took four wickets against New Zealand in the group stage and hit a quick 58 off 25 balls against Australia in the semi-finals. His performance earned him a spot on the national team.
  • NatWest Trophy (2002): In the 2002 NatWest Trophy final, Yuvraj Singh played a crucial role as India chased a massive target of 326 runs. With India at 146/5, Yuvraj, along with Mohammed Kaif, formed a 121-run partnership that led India to victory. Yuvraj scored 69 runs off 63 balls, making a significant contribution to one of the most memorable wins in Indian cricket history.
  • T20 World Cup (2007): Yuvraj Singh shone in the 2007 T20 World Cup with impressive innings of 58 off 16 balls and 70 off 30 balls against England and Australia, respectively. Retirement from Cricket

YouWeCan Foundation

Yuvraj Singh established the YouWeCan Foundation, which has supported hundreds of cancer patients. In April 2015, he invested INR 40-50 crores in online startups, expanding the foundation with YouWeCan Ventures. 

That same year, the foundation partnered with Heyyo Media’s Jayakrishnan to launch a nationwide cancer awareness campaign, educating students across India about the disease. Additionally, Yuvraj participated in the “Celebrity Clásico 2016,” an event aimed at raising funds for charitable causes.

Autobiography

Yuvraj Singh’s autobiography, “The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back,” was released on March 19, 2013. The book details his remarkable journey through cricket and his battle with cancer.
