RR vs MI IPL 2024 | Riyan Parag Magic Continues as Rajasthan Royals Defeats Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets

Riyan Parag played a fantastic innings, scoring 54 runs from 39 balls, helping Rajasthan Royals (RR) secure a six-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Akash Madhwal dismissed Ravichandran Ashwin, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Samson, while Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to Kwena Maphaka.

Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers bowled well, limiting Mumbai Indians to a low score of 125 runs. Sanju Samson’s RR had a great start after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. Trent Boult bowled excellently, taking two wickets in the first over, and Nandre Burger supported him well. Rajasthan’s bowlers dominated early, leaving Mumbai struggling at 20 for 4 after four overs.

Despite a short comeback from MI’s Pandya and Tilak, who added 56 runs for the fifth wicket, Yuzvendra Chahal’s important wickets stopped MI’s progress. Chahal’s impressive bowling performance in the final overs, including the dismissals of MI captain and Varma, further strengthened RR’s control over the game. Even Tim David’s difficulties to speed up in the final overs couldn’t rescue MI’s innings, as he fell for a slow 17 off 24 balls.

Meanwhile, while RR clinched victories against Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals, MI’s campaign got off to a rocky start, narrowly losing to the Gujarat Titans and conceding a whopping 277 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, resulting in a 31-run defeat.

Looking ahead, RR is scheduled to play their next IPL match against RCB on April 6 at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, while MI will face off against DC at Wankhede Stadium on April 7.
