India’s Next Cricket Match and Full 2024 Men’s Team Schedule

India’s cricket team is currently enjoying a rare break from their busy international schedule, having not played a match since August 8, 2024. Their previous engagement was a bilateral ODI series against Sri Lanka, which ended in a 0-2 loss, marking India’s first ODI series defeat to Sri Lanka since 1997.

Now, the players are taking some time off before their next challenge: a Test series at home against Bangladesh. India’s next game is set for September 19, kicking off a demanding period of continuous cricket leading up to IPL 2025. The series against Bangladesh will feature two Test matches and three T20 Internationals. 

India will look to bounce back from their recent loss to Sri Lanka. They will use these games to fix the problems they faced earlier and improve their play. The team is determined to do well and use this chance to get back on track. These matches are important not just for recovering from their recent defeat but also for improving their position in the World Test Championship standings. 

Following that, New Zealand will visit India for a three-Test series from October 16 to November 5. These home Tests are crucial for India’s World Test Championship (WTC) standings, as they prepare for a tough tour of Australia, where they will play the final five Tests of the series.

Historically, India has performed well in Australia, having won their last two tours. Since 2014, India has not lost a Test series to Australia, and the team will aim to maintain their unbeaten streak.

In addition to the New Zealand series and the Australia tour, Indian players will also travel to South Africa for four T20Is from November 8 to November 15. After the Australian tour, England will visit India for a series of five T20Is and three ODIs, ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025
