Bangladesh Secures Historic Win by Achieving Their First-Ever Test Series Victory Against Pakistan with a 2-0 Sweep. In the second Test in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh chased down 185 runs and won by six wickets, completing their historic series sweep.

The match started with a delay as Day 1 was completely rained out, leaving no play. On Day 2, when the game finally began, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan put up a score of 274 runs, with good contributions from Saim Ayub and Shan Masood. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan was the star with the ball, taking five wickets and making it tough for Pakistan.

Day 3 was full of drama. Pakistan’s bowlers were on fire, reducing Bangladesh to 26/6, making it look like an easy win for the hosts. But then, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz came to the rescue. They put together a massive 165-run partnership for the seventh wicket, helping Bangladesh get close to Pakistan’s score. Litton made a century, while Mehidy scored 78 runs. Bangladesh ended up scoring 262 runs, only 12 runs short of Pakistan’s total.

In Pakistan’s second innings, things didn’t go well for them. Hasan Mahmud, in only his third Test, took five wickets, while Nahid Rana added four more, causing Pakistan to collapse at 172 runs.

Bangladesh needed 185 runs to win, and their top-order batsmen stepped up to the task. Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mominul Haque made sure Bangladesh reached the target without much trouble, securing the win with plenty of time left in the game.

After the match, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed his happiness and pride in his team’s performance. He praised the bowlers and key batsmen for their efforts and said this win was a special moment for Bangladesh cricket.

Pakistan captain Shan Masood, on the other hand, was disappointed. He admitted that his team repeated the same mistakes and needs to learn from them to improve in future games.

Mehidy Hasan was named the Player of the Series for his brilliant all-round performance, while Litton Das was awarded the Player of the Match for his crucial century. Bangladesh will now prepare for their tour of India, which includes two Test matches and three T20Is. Pakistan will take a break before hosting England for a three-match Test series in October.
